This springtime silk batik painting is on silk/cotton fabric (50% silk/50% cotton).  The batik process uses layers of hot wax and dye, to build up the painting from the lightest colour, through to the darkest. Once the painting is finished the wax is removed to reveal the final result. 
This painting captures the blossom falling like snow onto the banks of the River Cam.
 
The painting is framed with a wooden oak effect frame.
