I created this batik painting many years ago, but include it here as it's part of the story! I lived in Rwanda from 1995 -1997 working for an Aid organization and creating batiks in our garage. 
This piece captures the spirit of the celebration on liberation day July 4th 1995.
It is batik on cotton and was bought by an American diplomat.
